This is an illustration / print that has been taken from a book dated 1902 and is ready for framing. Measures approximately 11 x 8 1/2 inches. There is an image text summary on the attached rice paper.
Lalla Rookh is an Oriental chivalric romance by the Irish poet Thomas Moore, first published in 1817. The title is taken from the name of the heroine of the frame tale, the (fictional) daughter of the 17th-century Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The poem is set in an atmosphere of Oriental splendour and has a reputation rivaling that of other poets like Byron and Sir Walter Scott.
