An intriguing eye catching multicolored gemstone of Red & Yellow Andesine from the Nyarogongo Volcano area Congo. This gem takes on different appearances as it moves around relative to a light source.
This gem is in the same family of minerals as labradorite which is 70% Anorthite and 30% Albite. Andesine is reversed and is composed of 50% to 70% Albite and 50% to 30% Anorthite. This gem exhibits labradorescence and is pleiochroic. The red color is due to the inclusion of copper.
Metaphysically speaking Andesine activates the heart chakra. It is a stone of clarity and warmth. It also is very grounding and alleviates stress.
