Born in the artistic hub of Paris, Moussia was fortunate to be surrounded by creativity from an early age. However, it was in the enchanting city of Tzfat, Israel, that she truly discovered her passion for art. Immersed in a community of talented artists, she found inspiration. Now based in Michigan, she established the Franklin Judaic Art Studio, where she continues to create with visitors of the studio, art, that expresses the beauty and profound meaning of the Jewish heritage.
In my Shabbat candle painting, I aim to capture the essence of this sacred tradition. The flickering flames symbolize not only the physical light that illuminates our homes, but also the spiritual light that we bring in our home and it’s surroundings. As we kindle these candles, we become part of a timeless tradition.
