A gorgeous well terminated gemmy green Dioptase on Calcite from the Reneville Mine, Kindanba District, Republic of the Congo. This now closed locality produced the world's best Dioptase specimens and was found before the later Tsumeb discoveries. Dioptase was discovered at the Tsumeb Mine in Namibia and is regarded as the best of the best to this day in terms of its Dioptase production. Specimens from Reneville are not often seen on todays market and are highly sought after by collectors. The crystals have great color saturation and a nice luster. The Calcite creates a beautiful and much needed color contrast. The combination makes the specimen all the more beautiful.
