1935-1944 Gallet MultiChron Regulator -RUNS

Galette, Swiss-manufacture, 1935-44 “Multi-Chron Regulator Scientific, two-register with decimal reading.Provenance - Estate of Lt. Col. Henry D. Klepacki, officer with Patton’s Third Armored Division.Watch was given to Klepacki when a medic with the 45th Medical Corps passed away in Belgium.Watch Specifics:Movement is manual wind.Calibration - Venus 140Case and band are solid stainless steel, band is flexible spring and original.Dimensions: 31mmProduced between 1937-1942There are no serial numbers, though Col. Klepacki noted #56699 - I do not know what significance that might mean. The winding mechanism winds smoothly:neither overwound or loose.When wound, the hands begin their circuits with no visible lag.The ticking of the mechanism is clearly audible.It is remarkable that the piece is still running.The watch shows it’s nearly 90-year age in that the crystal has clouded, has some scratching and the numerals have faded from navy blue to black.There is also a brownish, small circular discoloration on the lower left.
