Fabulous vintage dress by MARJORIE MICHAELS.The colors are a beautiful! Soft, luscious pink with a gold pattern. Colors are bright.Dress is in excellent used condition. There are two front pockets. There is no size since these dresses were custom made. It is about a modern size 8 with no give to the fabric. The buttons are gorgeous! They have iridescent glass stones with a brass base I believe. The dress has clean lines, flattering the figure.Fabric seems to be silk. Could be used as a mother of the bride dress, rehearsal dinner dress or intimate wedding dress, etc. I love the history of the designer who was an entrepreneur in a time when most women stayed home.Marjorie Michaels was a well know fashion designer from California. She started her business in 1948. She imported fabrics from Italy and France and refused to use synthetic fabrics. She wanted quality fabrics for her designs.Great find for the collector or fashion designer. The fabric and buttons alone are worth the price of this dress. This California fashion house went bankrupt in the early 1970s. There are not many of her dresses being offered up for sale.This item can also be remade into something more current.The fabric is amazing. From a smoke free home.
