In 1997, Ty Inc. was about to be hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit that involved the company’s then-named Tabasco the Bull beanie baby. The manufacturers of Tabasco Sauce claimed that Ty Inc. had illegally used the brand’s name.
To stay out of legal trouble, Ty Inc. changed the bull’s name from Tabasco to Snort.
