Vintage 60’s or 70’s Marshall Field’s 28 Shop Camel Colored Car or Fingertip Coat. This was my Aunts coat, she used to work in downtown Chicago & during her lunch hour she would go shopping at the old Marshall Fields store on State St.
There is no designer, content or size label other than the 28 shop label. The coat appears to be a wool or wool blend. Good Vintage Condition. My Aunt was a Vintage size Medium.
The coat features: Camel colored single breasted with three large plastic buttons to provide closure, with a notched collar, that converts to a peter pan or a nehru collar when the single small lapel button is done up. Two flap pockets in front with a small vent slit in the back (so you could sit down in it without restriction). Fully lined. Fingertip length.
Measurements are: Armpit to armpit across the front 21”, back measure from collar seam to hem 29½”, front measure from collar seam to hem 27½, sleeve measured from top of shoulder seam to cuff 19¼”.
