ABP cut glass can be divided into two general classes of designs. Prior to 1910, most pieces were cut in geometric patterns known as “rich cut glass” consisting of combinations of hobstars, pinwheels, diamonds, fans, and other geometric patterns. Nappy dishes are small, shallow bowls, often used for serving candy or nuts. Era: It is an antique, from the American Brilliant Period (1876-1916). Design: It features a hobstar and pinwheel design with sawtooth edges. It is made of lead crystal, known for its clarity and ability to be sharply cut. This American Cut Glass Bowl with Handle, Chain of Hobstars, Pinwheels, and Sawtooth Edge is American Brilliant Period Cut Glass with the bowl meeting all the characteristics of ABP as defined by the American Cut Glass Association. This unsigned cut glass bowl with handle which weighs 1 pound and measures appx 5.0 in diameter, 6.25 across the perimeter to the outside of the handle, and 1.5 tall with a 3.25 diameter base packaged weight 1.04
