HANDMADE VINTAGE FRAMED FOLK ART NEEDLEPOINT EMBROIDERY SAMPLER CROSS STITCH

This auction is a FRAMED & MATTED VINTAGE Embroidery Sampler. This sampler belonged to my husband's grandmother, who use to deal in antiques and collectibles. This RARE and VERY CHARMING embroidered piece depicts a fireplace with a mantle and 2 chairs and underneath is the poem, "With chat and cheer good friendship grows." The fireplace has a mantle with 2 lanterns, centerpiece and picture above. In front of the fireplace is two chairs. The lettering underneath is in red and is surrounded by a 4 decorative corners and a border. This panel was framed, but the panel was stitched to a piece of acid free paper and then the acid free mat was placed over the panel. None of the panel was cut to fit into the frame nor was it glued or applied with adhesive. It comes from a non-smoking and pet-free home. I honestly do not know the age of this piece, but know that my husband's grandmother owned it for many many years and then it was passed on to us.
