Extremely rare and collectible No. 72! 1960s 2-digit Montblanc vintage fountain pen 18K
This is a Montblanc Meisterstück No. 72 from the 1960s.
While the No. 12 and 14 from the same era are higher-end models, the No. 72 and 74 are even higher class.
This model boasts unwavering popularity among vintage fountain pens, and its excellent condition makes it even more rare. In the 1960s, the Meisterstück line other than the 149 was discontinued, and this 2-digit series was introduced in its place, featuring a later cap design with No. engraved on the cap lip.
Based on the 50s wing nib, it has a simpler and more easily maintainable structure, making it extremely practical and highly popular among vintage Montblancs with fewer malfunctions.
The nib has a soft initial touch, offering a comfortable writing experience that feels like a brush.
The writing experience is unique in that the nib itself flexes rather than opening when pressure is applied. It is called a wing nib because of its writing style similar to a dip pen. It is well-balanced and portable, making it a recommended item from a practical standpoint.
