Vintage 1970's McCoy Willow Blue Stoneware Pitcher w/lid

Offered is a vintage, collectible McCoy (U.S.A.) Willow Blue pattern cookie jar and lid in the pitcher design, only available in the mid-to-late 1970s.

This discontinued piece is in surprisingly good condition aside from a small chip at the back of the outside rim as seen in the picture. I noticed is that the lid appears to have a slightly different finish (speckled) compared to the body of the pitcher. I attribute that to being a manufacturing anomaly. Being stoneware, other manufacturing anomalies (e.g., glaze runs and bumps) should be expected.

Height is 9.5.” Width is 9.25” handle to spout. Opening diameter is 3.5” which is wide enough for most hands.

IMO this piece would be better used as a beautiful display piece. The reason being that the lid is not that easy to grasp and remove—at least my clumsy fingers have trouble with it as they want to slide off the handle because of its shape. If used as a display piece, the chip on the back of the rim would never/rarely be seen.
