Born name Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler, who escaped Nazi Germany and Nazi Austria, was one of the very few who succeeded in moving to another culture and becoming a full-fledged star herself.
She was an inventor of over 200 technologies and worked as an Austrian actress who became known as the Ecstasy lady . Then changed her name to Hedy Lamarr in Hollywood to move away from the Ecstasy reputation. She filmed Algiers in 1938 and Comrade in 1940 and many many more.
