A lovely vintage filigree butterfly pin made of 800 silver with a gilt design, and is stamped with the maker’s mark of Marlo Sebastiano F. Ili, from the Campo Ligure area of northern Italy. This area, which is northwest of Genoa, was (for a short time in the late 19th century) a center of the production of “filigrana” (filigree). This pin was produced sometime between 1950-1970 according to the Italian hallmark records. It measures 1 1/2-inches in length and 1 3/8-inches wide. We found this information from another site that had a sold butterfly that was identical. Please do your own research. It has a silver and gold tone. This was part of our Grandmother's Estate.
