Dating to the early 1900s, may I offer this American made, Art Nouveau designed, Sterling Silver (hallmarked as pictured) belt buckle - sash buckle for a lady. Featuring an Indian Chief amidst tree branches (and corn), the repousse design is nicely cast with a crisp strike. Hollow manufacture with airholes. In 2 pieces, the string you see holding the parts together is, I believe, original to the piece - it's that thin kind of fiber that you find on old price tags from the early 1900s. The main buckle measures 2-7/16" high x 1-3/4" wide. Weight of both pieces is 22 grams. Condition is very nice with just a lot of polish residue showing to the front (sorry, I forgot to give the buckle a bath before photo'ing). Maker? Good guess. My first thought was Unger but there's no maker mark - there is a style mark of 9488 so now I am thinking perhaps William B Kerr. You be the judge. Awesome subject matter. A terrific find that, if I am correct, has NEVER been worn.
