This stunning and newly found crystal specimen comes from Obi Island, Indonesia. The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has completed analysis and found that the specimens include Chalcedony, Copper, Cuprite, Chrysocolla, and Malachite.
This crystal is also highly prized in jewelry and is sold under the trademarked name Aquadité. This moniker is referencing the blue sea with the word “aqua” and the “dite” is a shortened form of the name of Aphrodite, goddess of love, the sea, and of the mineral copper. It reminds us of mermaid colored pearls!
This particular crystal is a nice mini - measuring 1.92” across at the widest x 1.92” and weighing 30g. Shown with photos of measurements, on a scale, & quarter as reference. Shown in natural daylight and indoor cloudy day photos where lighting is considerably darker.
This crystal reminds me of the shape of Oregon :)
