The Bareuther Waldsassen company has its roots back in the 19th century in Bavaria. Their factory was almost completely destroyed in WWWII. It was rebuilt and became fully operational in 1949.This rare, stunning coffee/tea pot was likely produced in the 1950's.The coffeepot features two intricate designs of a courting couple from the Love Story series of French artist Jean-Honore Fragonard (1732-1806), which was ordered in 1780 by Comtesse du Barry, the last mistress of King Louis XV. Unfortunately, she met an unhappy end by guillotine during the French Revolution.
