Gorgeous Calf leather from Florence Italy, handmade and signed by Guccio Gucci, the founder of Gucci since 1921. Guccio Gucci was an Italian businessman and founder of the Gucci fashion house. He was born in Florence in 1881 and died in 1953. He was the son of a Florentine craftsman who made leather goods, and he studied to be a shoemaker before moving to Rome to work for a shoemaker there. He then became an apprentice to a saddler. In 1920, he opened his own saddlery store in Florence, which he named after himself. In 1921, he added a line of leather goods.
