This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL chess set. This chess set has pieces that are white with grey and black with pieces that were Handcarved from a type of stone. Every chess piece is in BEAUTIFUL condition and ALL pieces come with the set. The case is just as beautiful! It has amazing details at the opening of the case. At the opening, there is also 2 lion heads. The corners of the case have a beautiful scalloped brass corner. This chess set would be great for a chess player or someone who is looking to add a unique chess set to their home. The chess case does need repair. The hinges have been fixed numberous times and they are no longer holder the screws. And there are a few surfaces scratches on the board. There is one big scratch but when the case is opened and the pieces are displayed, you cant tell there is a scratch. No other damage.
