Good vintage condition. There are a couple of cracks, it appears it may have been glued/repaired because it is not loose or wobbly at all. Moved it around, turned it and opened several ways and seems very solid. The interior removable tray looks like it may have had feet previously that are not on there. However, it fits perfectly inside.
Incolay stone is a complex combination of minerals including those composing Onyx, Malachite, Jade, etc. Selected minerals are crushed and ground into particle sizes forming and aggregate.
This box was hand carved by an artisan at Incolay Studios Inc.
It has a hinged lid and the bottom of the inside is covered in a soft orange velvety fabric.
