Maisels was a company launched in 1923 by Maurice Maisel in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Maisel’s was producing silver items by the late 1920’s and, having added labor saving dies and
drop press machinery in the production line, grew quickly in size to employ several hundred Native Americans creating jewelry and other crafts for tourists on Rt. 66. The company was
closed in the 1960s after Maurice’s death, reopened by his grandson in the 1980’s, and finally
closed in 2019.
