Antique Art Nouveau Sterling Silver William Kerr #1307 Flowing Lady Brooch Pin1890's-1910William B. Kerr & Co. established in Newark, New Jersey in 1855, and produced pieces in the neo-Renaissance as well as Art Nouveau Style. They also Produced Flatware, Vanity items, and other wares.William B Kerr & Co. was acquired by the well known Gorham Manufacturing Corporation in 1906, but still continued to operate as a separate entity in Newark before being fully absorbed by Gorham in 1927; where all production was moved to Providence, Rhode Island. This is a gorgeous piece in beautiful condition. It does show signs of wear, and has a soft naturally developed patina- (which I have chosen not to disturb)Clasp works well.**I wanted to add an important side note here (whether you are just browsing, or shopping with intent)- While there isn't an ocean of availability on these Genuine Antique Nouveau Era pieces. There are MANY revival pieces. Also, many of the pieces available whether *True Antique*, or Revival- were made with only a Sterling TOP and a different metal type for the backside. Even some of the ones made by William Kerr were Sterling TOP only (and marked accordingly if so)- I am mentioning these things as they should be carefully considered in your purchase decision. Please see photos/video for best description, condition, and measurements. *Photos have been enlarged to show detail.
