Zellique Art Glass was a prominent and highly regarded art glass studio known for its exquisite creations. Founded by Joseph Morel and his wife, Annette, in 1980, Zellique gained international recognition for its innovative designs and impeccable craftsmanship. After 25 years, Morel closed the studio in 2005 to teach glass blowing here at Fresno State. This stunning vase reminds me of a glowing blob of magma that just erupted from a volcano - the rim even looks like the magma has started to cool. The vase is not without defects. One side has a few scuffs and the other side has some scratches (see photos). They are not apparent unless a light is shining on them - I didn’t notice them myself until I was taking the photos. The vase is signed on the bottom “Zellique Studio EB 124”. It measures 5 inches tall and weighs several pounds.
