It is woven with yarn that is tightly twisted for greater strength, and its characteristic feature is the fine wrinkles on the surface, known as shibo. While it is typical to have one fabric per production area, Yonezawa fabric offers a rich variety of unique cloths such as Nagai Tsumugi, Okitama Tsumugi, and Beni Hanabira Tsumugi, and it is also famous as a high-quality tsumugi textile.
