Vintage Turn and Burn Pottery Horse Canister
This Vintage Horse Canister was made by the founder of Turn and Burn Pottery in Seagrove, NC, David B. Garner. David Garner passed away just this past February, may he rest in peace.
It is absolutely amazing how the horses are depicted running and jumping all the way around the canister in this gorgeous shade of blue. The inside of the lid is even detailed, every time you open the canister lid you see a horse. There are no chips or cracks. This jar was done in a salt glaze and the depictions of the horses appear to be hand inscribed in the clay before glazing. The bottom of the canister is inscribed with the following: Turn & Burn Pottery, D. B. Garner, M. Yow, Seagrove, N.C., Romans 8:2.
This beautiful and stunning work by Turn and Burn Pottery would make a great addition to any pottery collection or would make a great gift to any horse lover.
