This 205 page book contains the author's detailed biographical account of Mr. Nicholls who has been acclaimed as the greatest Governor of the State of Louisiana by some historians. Elected twice as Governor and thereafter Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, Mr.Nicholls was also a veteran of the Civil War as a Brigadier General serving in the Confederacy. He was severely wounded in battle and lost his left arm. Mr. Nicholls retired as Chief Justice in 1911 and passed away that same year at the age of 77.
