This is a very rare uncut sheet of 16- star -1976- Bicentennial 2.00 bills. Each bill has two limited edition bicentennial first day of issue postage stamps affixed to it. Each one is postmarked April13, 1976. The significance of the date is that these were released to the public on that date which is Thomas Jefferson’s birthday . He has his image on the bill and he was the writer of The Articles of Confederation which were adopted as our Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The new reverse on this reissued 2.00 bill depicts the signing of the Declaration on that date. This is an important piece of American historical currency because there are no records as to how many of these bills with the postmarked stamps actually exist, because it was the citizens who took their time to buy the bills the stamps and have them postmarked on that one day in our nation’s history, these are the only uncut sheets of 16 with the stamps I have seen. Many available without the cancelled stamp
