Stunning mid-century hand carved sculptural yet functional tray by renowned wood working artisan Emil Milan. Signed and with his signature identifier of the wood used, this piece is carved from Lapacho. Also known as IPE or Brazilian Walnut, this is an unbelievably durable and hard wood species. Milan (1922-1985) was at the forefront of midcentury modern design with the worlds leading artists and designers of the times, and the cost of his works are reaching impressive heights. This tray will grace your counter or table perfectly, sure to become an heirloom that even the next generations will value! There is one tiny indent in the center leaf edge, and the stem has some fading at the very end. These tiny imperfections are barely noticeable and do not detract at all from the gorgeous sheen.
