due to being old the battery needs to be replaced, it only works while charging. DOES NOT COME WITH CHARGER. with charger, this dvd player can read DVDs and cds, the audio works fine and you can technically use all controls. however, the monitor is faulty. it is very low brightness and turns off every few seconds only resetting if you click the little clicky button near the monitor. it can probably be fixed but i do not have the tools to. its being sold as is for parts or repair. once again it ONLY WORKS WITH A CHARGER PLUGGED IN. let me know any questions, i can show video of it reading a dvd/monitor problems if interested. third image shows the way the monitor messes up
