The Philani Maternal, Child Health and Nutrition Trust has been addressing maternal, child health and nutrition problems in the informal settlements surrounding Cape Town since 1979. This pillow cover was hand painted and hand woven by women from the settlements in Cross Roads, Khayelitsha and Browns Farm, Cape Town, South Africa, made by a woman named Tanano on August 24, 2017 through the Philani Project.
