Clock can hang and have pendulum swing with 1 aa battery or you can remove the pendulum and set it on a mantel or other flat surface. Clock has been tested to work with 2 c batteries. Hour hand was loose and had to be pushed back onto stem. Doors open and Lucy and Linus plays at the top of every hour. Supposedly has a light sensor that disables cuckoo when it is dark. This feature has not been tested. There are a few flaws on the face of the Clock as seen in photos. Ball on pendulum has two white marks as seen in photo. Clock is plastic with a very thick sticker for the decoration. Measures approximately 11 1/2 inches tall without pendulum. Is approximately 8 1/2 inches across.
