The Comedies of Shakespeare in Two Volumes. Complete and Unabridged with Notes and Glossary. Published by The Modern Library, undated. These were volumes 2 and 2a of The Modern Library's Shakespeare series.
These volumes are in very nice condition. In volume 1. A Merry Christmas 1948 note is affixed to the front page. There are no ink names, pen/pencil notations, or similar flaws. Both dust jackets are intact with photos showing condition. The prices on both dust jackets ($1.25) are unclipped.
Although the volumes list no publication date, the reverse of each dust jacket lists 329 books available from the Modern Library. Based on that information, we tentatively date these volumes to 1947.
Volume 1 contains The Tempest, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Measure for Measure, The Comedy of Errors, Much Ado About Nothing, Loves Labor Lost, A Midsummer Night's Dream.
