PRODUCT HISTORY
Composer, musician, teacher & writer W.C. Handy was born in 1873. Even though his father considered music to be tool of the devil, young Handy secretly saved money to buy his first guitar. In early 1900s, he was one of the first African Americans successful music publisher. In addition to creating music, he wrote several books about music and an autobiography & is known as the “Father of Blues”.
