The Family of Man, Softcover, 1955 MACO Release, $1.95 official price tag, rare

Very rare First Release of one of the most famous photography collections for and from The Museum of Modern Art, New York City.

Sold in the Museum Shop back in 1964. Ex Libris Deborah Hobson sticker on inner front cover.

In Good condition. Please examine pictures carefully for signs of flaws on front and back cover such as faint circular wine bottle stain and rubbing on spine and near spine. Internally, no writing snd no damage to pages. Only the normal aging of paper sometimes called “yellowing” or such.

There was a 1955 release in softcover for a lower official price, but $1.95 is lower than the later released $2.95 and $3.95 that are more available at fine bookstores and online today.

So this release is really early and valuable and collectible because of that.

Pictures are incredible and the age patina makes it so authentic like an antique should be.

There are 3 small millimeter sized black dots on the cover that look to be cigarette ash marks from the good ole days.
