Vintage Silverplate sauce boat made in Germany by Wellner Soehne for Hapag, officially the Hamburg-Amerikanische Packetfahrt-Aktien-Gesellschaft, a prominent German transatlantic shipping company which became a player in the emigration trade.
For items ordered by steamship cos., the year of production - in this case 1910 - was added to the markings. Measures 6.5”wide. 4” High. This piece has good heft as was designed to withstand a lot of commercial use and washings.
It’s got some minor nicks and surface patina from typical heavily-used ship / hotel / restaurant ware.
Great on bar cart to hold citrus and other garnishment.
