Salvinia Minima, commonly referred to as water spangles, is a floating plant frequently used in freshwater aquariums. A notable characteristic of this plant is its root system, which extends roughly 2-3 inches below the surface, providing constant water filtration and removing toxic substances that could harm fish, much like its natural environment. An additional benefit of this plant is its capacity to flourish without supplemental CO2. Basic lighting and still water constitute the only necessary conditions for its growth.
