Rosenthal Tyrolean Girl by Karl Himmelstoss

A finely crafted porcelain figure of a Tyrolean girl by Karl Himmelstoss. She is depicted with long braided pigtails tied with large bows. She holds a small bouquet of flowers in her left hand and carries a hat on her right arm. The figure stands on a stepped octagonal base. On the back of the octagonal base, there is a faint signature on the plinth (base), K. Himmelstoss. White glazed porcelain, hand-painted in soft pastel tones. Underside bears a green manufacturer’s mark. The underside is inscribed with Kunst Abteilung (Arts Department), Selb Bavaria; design circa 1912. The hat shows a small flaw that appears to be a chip, but it is beneath the glaze. Please refer to the close-up photo—this area appears white. The delicate, pigtails, which are usually broken, are intact. No other chips or cracks. Height: 7 1/4 .
