Reportedly inspired by Paul Chabas painting, the nude figural lady floral frog from Cambridge Glass Co had no name originally but instead a mold number. After the demise of Cambridge in 1954, Imperial Glass purchased the 6.5" frog that had been named 'Bashful Charlotte' to differentiate the "Draped Lady' frog mold at Cambridge. When Imperial went out of business in 1984, the mold was purchased by Mirror Images, a Michigan based giftware company. Imperial Glass produced the glass frog for Mirror Images in 1981 under the revised name 'Venus Rising' and added the vertical ribbing that did not made it into production at Cambridge. The 8-hole glass frog with hollow base and ribbed pedestal most likely is a reissue by Imperial for Mirror Images.
An estate find in very good condition, no chips; bubbles can be seen through the glass with more bubbles in pedestal base than figure. No markings. Measures approx 6.5" H, base 3 1/8" D
Respectfully packaged to arrive safe to you.
