Original postcard showing a steam train crossing the Great Salt Lake Cut-Off trestle at sunset. The Southern Pacific Railroad's Cut-Off was an engineering marvel of its day, stretching over 30 miles across the lake.

Details:

• Caption: Great Salt Lake Cut-Off, Utah (Curt Teich card no. A-7697)

• Postmarked: Aug 22, 1921 – Ogden, Utah

• Stamp: 1¢ green George Washington

• Addressed to Chicago, handwritten message

Condition: Edge and corner wear consistent with age, age toning, clear postmark. Strong colors on front.

Historical Note: The Cut-Off allowed trains to bypass steep grades and sharp curves, significantly reducing travel time across Utah. Early railroad views from this project are highly sought after by collectors.
