This an original vintage unrestored movie insert poster for the neo-noir crime drama “Badlands” written, produced & directed by Terrence Malick (in his directorial debut) & starring Martin Sheen & Sissy Spacek. While the story is fictional, it is loosely based on the real-life murder spree of Charles Starkweather & his girlfriend Caril Ann Fugate in 1958.
This unrestored 1973 film poster insert (14” x 36”) for “Badlands” is in good to very good condition. The poster has minor wear & tear as well as creases. See images.
Jack Fisk served as art director for the film in his first of several collaborations with the director. During production, Sissy Spacek & Fisk fell in love & were married on April 12, 1974. A leading critic called “Badlands” a "cool, sometimes brilliant, always ferociously American film".
